Shipping and Receiving Department Supervisor

Immediate opening for a Shipping Department Manager for a Manufacturing facility in the outskirts of Katy, TX.

Position Details:

• The Manager interfaces with Production, Sales, and Customer Service Management to insure the best possible service to our customers. 
• Normal shift hours will be Monday- Friday, 6:00 AM- 4:00 PM. 
• However you need to be flexible to work Saturdays and later hours. 

Job Description:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of the Shipping Department, scheduling employees work hours, and assuring Shipping Department objectives are met using the following processes:
• Generating all "Pick" tickets making all amendments/adjustments, as required. 
• Preparation for payment of Freight Bills/Delivery Notes. 
• All goods issued are posted correctly. 
• Pallet returns are processed, promptly. 
• Designate yard location/layout for finished goods 
• Responsible for the receipt and records of all materials, i.e., raw, packaging, resale, machinery, maintenance, etc., delivered to the facility. 
• Prior to shipping new production runs verify color consistencies with control samples. Inspect the previous days stacked production to insure materials are of acceptable quality, 
• i.e. neatly stacked pallets, zero breakage, proper identification, etc. 
• Responsible for conducting and reconciling monthly inventories of finished goods, hand specials, resale items and wooden pallets. 
• Supervise all data entry for inventory control management to maintain accurate finished goods inventory. 
• Responsible for the Inspection of all loaded trucks to assure shipments conform to the shipping documents and meet all Monierlifetile Quality Specifications, prior to shipping. 
• Ensure good housekeeping practices are being conducted daily within areas of responsibility. 
• Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure the department is in compliance with both "OSHA" and Monierlifetile Safety Standards. 
• Ensure Shipping Department's mobile equipment is maintained daily.  
• Inspect returned material to insure material qualifies as an acceptable return prior to issuing credit. 
• Coordinate shipments of the plants waste materials, as warranted. 
• Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the pallet repair crew. 
• Responsible to maintain adequate levels of pallet repair materials.

Qualifications to Apply:

• Previous inventory management responsibilities 
• Previous experience operating a forklift 
• Previous management experience 
• Previous SAP Experience 
• Previous work in a Lean Manufacturing Environment (at least good exposure to 5s and visual Management)
• Must be able to read, write, and converse in English. Spanish is a PLUS. 
• Minimum of 5 years previous related work experience in MANUFACTURING FACILITY. 
• Must provide own basic hand tools for mechanical repairs 
• WELDING and FABRICATING experience desirable. 
• Must be able to pass random drug testing and we will complete a background.
